Who is behind Satershots?
Matthias Desard. I turned the hobby into a job, and I have been shooting under this name since 2021.
I am a photographer from Wolfsdonk, in Flemish Brabant. Enthusiastic to the point of being a nuisance about it, and a shameless pixel peeper — I will zoom into a frame at 200 % to check an eyelash, and I would rather find the problem there than after you have printed it.
The camera is medium format digital, which is a larger sensor than the one in almost anything else pointed at a family party. It is not a flex; it is the reason a frame can be cropped hard, printed large, and still hold the detail you actually wanted from it.
What that adds up to is straightforward. You get someone who shows up on time, stays out of the way, notices the light, and hands back files that look like the day felt rather than files that prove the day happened.
How a shoot works
Four steps, and none of them is a surprise. If any of it needs to work differently for you, say so in the first message.

You tell me what it is
What you want photographed, roughly when, and where. A couple of sentences is enough — I will ask about the rest.

We agree the day and the number
Which package fits, what the travel adds, how long the day runs. The price is settled before anything is booked, so there is nothing to discover at the end.

The shoot
Two hours, or all day. I work around what is happening rather than stopping it, and I only direct people when directing them is the only way to get the frame.

The files
Every usable frame corrected and colour-matched, ten or fifty of them fully retouched, delivered as a download. Prints on request after that.
